With Father’s Day coming up I love reading how good our Heavenly Father is. I love the song by Chris Tomlin called Good Father. Every time I hear this song I tear up.
Many people think when sickness happens that it must be God’s will. I’m sorry but I don’t know any good father that would wish sickness on a child. Our God is a good father. Does it not say that ask and receive, seek and find and knock and the door will be opened. I love the fact that when Jesus speaks of this He refers to a father and son. What man when asked of his child for bread would give him a stone? When asked for a fish will give him a serpent. If we can give good things to our children, how much more does our Heavenly Father want to give and bless us. (Matt 7:7-12).
Sickness based on the Old Testament is a curse so don’t believe the lie that it is Gods will. I’m tired of the lie. I’m sick thinking that some people believe that when loved ones die it was Gods will. It is not Gods will. He is a good father. I cannot wrap my mind around how people can believe He is good and also putting sickness on His children.
Jesus tells us the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus comes that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) I refer to this verse a lot because it is a reminder to me that the enemy is coming to steal our joy, peace, patience, love. He desires to kill us and our loved ones. He wants to destroy Gods children. Yet it says but Jesus or as I say much in my home but God. But God gave us Jesus so we would have life. Not just any life but a life with more abundance.
Abundance used here means superabundance, excessive, overflowing, surplus, over and above, extraordinary, above the ordinary, more then sufficient.
Wow. Are you living in the abundance or are you allowing the thief to steal, kill and destroy you and/or your loved ones? Remember Satan is like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1Peter 5:8) He has no real power besides what we allow him to have. His main objective is to instill fear. That is why Peter warns us and advises what to do. Resist him, be steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. He is cunning and sly. He is deceitful in making you to believe it is Gods will for you to be sick.
Let me leave you with one final thought. Jesus spoke and said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” Think of what a shepherd does to protect His sheep. He will do anything to keep them safe from harm. Predators are always about waiting to snatch up the sheep that may have strayed away. Yet the shepherd will leave the flock to find the one that is missing and rejoices once found. He loves each of us. He laid His life for all of His sheep. He is good. Our Father is a good father. Parents think on what you would do for your children. He loves them more than you can even imagine and has no desire for sickness to come on them. Resist the enemy because our “but God” is better then any lie the enemy sends; even when it’s a doctor report.
But God is a good father.
But God wants you to have life abundantly.
But God loves you and laid down the life of His son for you.
But God.
